Raspberry Allgold.
A raspberry with a unique colour and exquisite taste.
Commonly known as Allgold but sometimes referred to as Fall Gold which we understand is the correct name.
Discovered as a chance seedling in a nursery bed and is believed to be a sport of Autumn Bliss.
A self-fertile primo-cane variety, Allgold produces fruit on first year wood and the berries can be harvested from the end of July until the first frosts in October.
As the name suggests, the large berries of Allgold are gold in colour with a very distinct, sweet flavour.
Allgold is excellent eaten fresh or can be frozen, the fruit is also very popular with home-made wine enthusiasts.
Raspberries are a thirsty crop so keep the plants well watered during the growing season.
Apply a good general fertilizer approx. 2 oz. per square yard along the rows of canes in March, water in and apply a mulch of well-rotted farm yard manure or compost.
When growing raspberries in containers it is important to remove any flowers from the canes in the first season after planting.
All pictures used are of mature plants and may not necessarily reflect plants at all times of the year.
