PRIMULA denticulata is more commonly known as Drumstick Primrose.
A low growing herbaceous perennial with neat rosettes of finely toothed oval leaves.
The stout flower stems of Primula denticulata are topped with dense balls of tiny lilac blooms.
These flower-heads which resemble drumsticks give the plant its common name.
Interest in Primula denticulate has increased in recent years and it is now one the most popular primulas in the garden.
Useful in woodland conditions or in a slightly shaded area of the rock garden.
Drumstick primrose can be used to great effect with other primula or can be planted in small groups.
Prefers humus-rich soil and dappled shade.
Originated in the mountainous regions of Afghanistan and China but Primula denticulata is perfectly hardy in the British Isles.
Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
All pictures used are of mature plants in full bloom and may not necessarily reflect the plant at all times of the year.
We dispatched our Primula denticulata as well grown jumbo plug plants which are best grown on in a 9 or 10cm pot for a short time before transplanting to their final growing positions or as Garden Ready 9cm Pot Plants.

Please remember plant maintenance within our nursery is absolutely essential and means we need to prune back some items at certain times of the year to help maintain shape and encourage new growth.
We ask all our buyers to remember Drumstick Primrose are living plants and their appearance changes with the seasons. Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year and just enjoying a well-earned rest before bursting into action for the new season. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.
We want you to be happy with your Primula and all our items are checked and inspected visually before packing. In the unlikely event of a problem please advise us at sales@seedsplantsbulbs.com within 48hrs of delivery. You can also notify us by telephone 02879111497 or 02879417038. Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. Primula denticulata will only be accepted for return after seller has been informed and given permission for their return. Refunds will be issued when items are received back in saleable condition within 14 days from original dispatch date. Buyer must pay all return charges except where an item has been shipped in error.
