Suttons Apricot

Perhaps better known as Foxglove one of our best loved native wild plants.

A biennial or short lived perennial that forms a simple base rosette of soft, slightly hairy leaves and carries tall spikes of tubular flowers.

Sutton’s Apricot is an extremely pretty variety it produces apricot-pink flowers that are attractively spotted on the inside of the throat with maroon/dark purple.

The flowers open from the bottom upwards over a period of several weeks from May to July.

Great choice for growing at the back of a border and of course no cottage garden would be complete without a number of Foxgloves.

Also good in a woodland setting or in a wildflower garden and the tall flower spikes find use as cut flowers as well.

Like all Digitalis Suttons Apricot is adored by butterflies, bees and many other beneficial insects.

Easy to grow in full sun or dappled shade and prefers moist but well drained humus rich soil.

Although fully hardy Digital Suttons Apricot will die back to below ground level in autumn each year but fresh new growth will appear again in spring.

Our plants of Sutton’s Apricot are supplied ex. 9cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results may be obtained if they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions.

We ask all our buyers to remember Foxglove plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.

We want you to be happy with your purchase and all our Digitalis are checked and inspected visually before packing. In the unlikely event of a problem please advise us at sales@seedsplantsbulbs.com within 48hrs of delivery.  You can also notify us by telephone at 02879111497 or 02879417038. Due to the nature of the item we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. Digitalis Suttons Apricot will only be accepted for return after seller has been informed and given permission. Refunds will be issued after the plants are received back in a saleable condition within 14 days from original dispatch date. Buyer must pay all return charges except where an item has been shipped in error.
