CORDYLINE Torbay Dazzler
Commonly called Cabbage Palm but occasionally referred to as The Cornish Palm because it is so widely grown in Cornwall.
Brightly coloured, this striking Cordyline bears terminal tufts of green sword like leaves with broad cream stripes and just a hint of red at the base.
In hot summers mature plants of Torbay Dazzler will occasionally produce large heads of tiny, sweet smelling ivory/white flowers followed by blueish-white berries.
Good for attracting wildlife, bees find the blooms almost irresistible and starlings simply gorge on the berries in autumn.
To perform best Cordyline Torbay Dazzler needs a site in full sun with well-drained soil and good shelter from cold winter winds.
This architectural shrub is an excellent choice for giving a tropical feel to a mixed or herbaceous border and is stunning when grown in a large pot or container and used in a courtyard or patio setting.
Slightly less hardy than the species but when grown in pots or containers the plants can be easily moved to a frost free area for the winter months.
Easy to grow and drought tolerant when established this low-maintenance, exotic-looking evergreen will give years of colourful enjoyment to your garden or patio.
Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit.
Illustrations used are of mature plants in bloom and may not necessarily reflect the plant at all times of the year.
Our plants are supplied ex. 9 cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results are obtained when they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions.

We ask all our buyers to remember plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons. Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.
We want you to be happy with your purchase and all our items are checked and inspected visually before packing. In the unlikely event of a problem please advise us within 48hrs of delivery. Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. Goods will only be accepted for return after seller has been informed and given permission for their return. Refunds will be issued after items are received back in a saleable condition within 14 days from original dispatch date. Buyer must pay all return charges except where an item has been shipped in error.
