AMARYLLIS or HIPPEASTRUMNaranjaAlthough commonly known as Amaryllis most of the bulbs offered for sale in autumn are really varieties of Hippeastrum.Originating in the tropical mountain regions of Chile and Peru these amazing flowers are one of the easiest plants to bring into bloom.In winter and early spring clusters of lily-like flowers are produced on thick stalks or stems over an extended period.These large flowers and the ease with which they can be produced have led to Amaryllis being in demand all over the world.Flowering approximately 7-9 weeks after planting these fantastic plants are ideal for brightening up your home during the dark days of winter.Amaryllis Naranja produces large satin like flowers in rich, clear orange with a darker center.The blooms which may measure up to 20cm have gently recurving petals and are carried on strong stems which are often almost 60cm tall.This variety appreciates plenty of lightFollow a few easy steps and these long lived bulbs will bloom year after year.Supplied as HUGE BULBS (Size 42-44) and weighing approx.
