WEIGELA kosteriana Variegata

A compact medium-sized deciduous shrub with gracefully arching branches native to the woodlands of Eastern Asia.

With a spreading habit and narrowly ovate leaves edged in golden yellow it makes a very attractive and eye-catching bush.

Weigela kosteriana variegata bears clusters of tubular or funnel-shaped, light pink flowers in May and June and occasionally produces a second but smaller crop in late summer or early autumn.

Undemanding, it will grow and thrive in any reasonably fertile garden soil but it does like good drainage.

Excellent in town gardens particularly in industrial areas where it will tolerate the dust and smoke.

Any pruning necessary should be done in mid-summer immediately after flowering.

Can reach a height of 1.5 – 2.00 m.

This very decorative and easily grown shrub is regarded as one of the best variegated shrubs in general planting.

We ask all our buyers to remember Weigela plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.

We want you to be happy with your purchase and all our items are checked and inspected visually before packing. Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. Weigela kosteriana variegata will only be accepted for return after seller has been informed and given permission for their return. Refunds will be issued after items are received back in a saleable condition within 14 days from original dispatch date. Buyer must pay all return charges except where an item has been shipped in error.
