Tulip Abba. Double Early Type.

Tulip Abba, a double early type.

Introduced in the early 1950’s Tulip Abba is short-stemmed, usually growing only 10-12 inches tall.

Like all double-early tulips, flowers are bowl-shaped, with a double row of petals.

Blooming in mid-spring the flowers are rich tomato-red with yellow centres flushed dull cardinal-red and occasionally irregularly feathered with yellow.

When fully open on warm sunny days the mildly fragrant, paeony- like flowers can reach up to 4 inches across.

Plant the bulbs 4-5 inches deep in fertile, well-drained, soil, during autumn.

Performs best in full sun but will tolerate partial shade.

Dislikes cold conditions but can be forced.

Since it was first introduced Tulip Abba has been a much sought- after variety

Bulbs should be planted 4–5 inches deep in fertile, well-drained, soil, during autumn.

Remove the flowers as they fade to prevent plants setting seed but allow foliage to yellow and wither for approx. 6 weeks before removing it.

Ensure delivery of Tulip Schoonoord in time for the new planting season.

We also stock many OTHER VARIETIES of Tulip bulbs.
