PHORMIUMPink StripeAlmost universally known as New Zealand Flax.Phormium Pink Stripe is a clump-forming, evergreen perennial with broad, sword-like, upright, slightly arching leathery foliage.Growing 110cm – 130cm tall the leaves are an unusual greyish purple or purplish bronze colour with a florescent pink edge.In milder areas tall, leafless spikes bearing erect clusters of tubular, burgundy flowers are occasionally produced in summer.Prefers a site in full sun or partial shade with moist but free draining soil or compost.Ideal for providing year round interest in a border or gravel garden but Phormium Pink Stripe is equally at home as a colourful container or patio plant.Exceptional in coastal gardens.When allowed to develop into large clumps these handsome architectural plants make striking specimens and can become marvellous focal points.This beautiful New Zealand Flax can withstand temperatures down to -10C and is hardy in most parts of the UK but it may suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in extremely harsh winters or in exposed northern locations. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.We want you to be happy with your purchase and all our items are checked and inspected visually before packing. In the unlikely event of a problem please advise us within 48hrs of delivery. Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. Goods will only be accepted for return after seller has been informed and given permission for their return. Refunds will be issued when items are received back in saleable condition within 14 days from original despatch date. Buyer must pay all return charges except where an item has been despatched in error.
