Dwarf Iris Reticulata. Blue.
A dwarf early flowering variety native to mountainous areas of Turkey, Iran and parts of Russia.
The vibrant blue flowers splashed with yellow and white contrast well with the narrow green foliage and have an almost orchid-like appearance.
Flowering in March and April the flowers have a gorgeous fragrance and are highly attractive to bees and many other pollinating insects.
Great when planted in borders and allowed to naturalise and spread but Dwarf Iris Reticulata also looks good in pots, troughs and other containers.
Also works well in rock or gravel gardens.
Iris Reticulata prefers a sunny site with free draining soil.
Plant the bulbs approx. 10cm deep and 20cm apart.
Large clumps can be lifted and divided in autumn.
