CROCUS Ruby Giant. Crocus tommasinianus.

CROCUS Ruby Giant.

Crocus tommasinianus.

Its name may suggest that it is a giant but in reality Crocus Ruby Giant is a dainty little botanical crocus.

One of the first crocuses to bloom in early spring, several weeks earlier than the well- known Large Flowered Hybrids.

Flowering in February and March the blooms are deep purple, shaded silvery white in the centre, and have the most wonderful fragrance.

A strongly weather resistant variety, Crocus Ruby Giant is one of the best for planting in grass.

Great plant for early pollinating insects.

Easy to grow, they prefer a light, sandy well drained soil and if left to naturalize they will increase in number and return each spring to signal the end of winter.

Bulbs which have been in the ground for some time tend to bloom a little earlier than newly planted ones.

Crocus Ruby Giant is truly a gem among Crocuses.

All pictures used are of mature plants in bloom and are for illustration purposes only.

Bulbs should be unpacked and/or planted immediately they arrive.
