ANEMONE Ruffled Swan

A new introduction of the well-known Windflower.

This upright, clump-forming, herbaceous perennial has dark green leaves with ovate, toothed leaflets and a somewhat glossy appearance.

From early May to mid-November graceful, elegant stems rise high above the neat foliage of Ruffled Swan each one bearing a pure white, semi-double flower.

Every flower petal has a distinct purplish-blue streak on the underside so when the flowers are in bud or when they close in the evening they appear to be dirty-blue.

Ruffled Swan is ideal for growing in partial or dappled shade such as a woodland setting or underplanting shrubs or roses but equally as good in borders and can even be grown successfully in pots and containers.

Flowering can be prolonged by deadheading spent blooms regularly.

A mulch of well-rotted farmyard manure or compost should be applied to the base of Anemone plants each year in early spring.

Very early, long flowering, delicately beautiful and easy to grow, it’s no surprise that Anemone Ruffled Swan has made such an impact on the gardening public.

Our plants of Ruffled Swan are supplied ex. 9cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results may be obtained if they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions

Please remember plant maintenance within our nursery is absolutely essential and means we need to prune back some items at certain times of the year to help maintain shape and encourage new growth.

We ask all our buyers to remember Anemone Ruffled Swan is a living item and its appearance changes with the seasons.  Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.

We want you to be happy with your purchase and all our Anemone are checked and inspected visually before packing. In the unlikely event of a problem please advise us at sales@seedsplantsbulbs.com within 48hrs of delivery. You can also notify us by telephone at 02879111497 or 02879417038. Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. Anemone Ruffled Swan will only be accepted for return after seller has been informed and given permission. Refunds will be issued after items are received back in a saleable condition within 14 days from original dispatch date. Buyer must pay all return charges except where an item has been shipped in error.
