Allium Ping Pong – Late-Flowering Ornamental Onion Bulbs
Add a striking splash of texture and colour to your summer garden with Allium Ping Pong bulbs, sometimes known as the Wild Leek allium. This late-season variety flowers from June right through to July, making it one of the best ornamental onion bulbs for extending the allium display well into early summer, long after many other varieties have finished blooming.
Distinctive Drumstick Flower Heads
True to its name, Allium Ping Pong produces round, compact, dense white flower heads that closely resemble drumsticks or small ping pong balls. As a classic drumstick allium, it brings a fun, architectural shape to borders and works beautifully as a repeated feature through a planting scheme.
Perfect for Borders and Cut Flowers
This variety is a wonderful addition to the middle or back of a summer border, especially when planted alongside herbaceous perennials for contrast in shape and texture. The long, elegant stems typically reach 90–100cm, making Allium Ping Pong an excellent choice for cut flower bulbs, perfect for tall, statement displays in vases.
A Magnet for Pollinators
As pollinator friendly bulbs, Allium Ping Pong is fantastic for attracting wildlife to the garden. Butterflies, bees, and many other beneficial insects are drawn to its blooms, making it a great choice for anyone looking to support biodiversity in their outdoor space.
