AGAPANTHUS
Twister
Also known by many common names, The Nile Lily, Blue African Lily, Lily of the Nile amongst others.
Native to South Africa, although they have now spread around the temperate world.
Agapanthus Twister produces strap-like leaves and large round umbels of beautiful flowers on sturdy stems throughout the summer months.
The trumpet or bell-shaped flowers are deep blue at the base flaring white at the petal tips.
Easy to grow Agapanthus requires a little warmth, sunshine and a plentiful supply of water when in active growth.
Plant in mixed borders where they will receive some shelter but their tidy foliage which seldom reaches more than 50cm tall with a spread of approx. 50cm.
Twister is ideal for pots and containers and is excellent when used as a cut flower with blooms often lasting two weeks in the vase.
Plant in well-drained soil, in full sun or part shade and add some granular fertilizer for a good display of flowers in summer.
Remove faded flowers and let stems die back in autumn.
Agapanthus Twister is frost tolerant but a mulch of organic matter such as farmyard manure over the crown of the plant will help give it protection against stronger frosts.
Plants in containers should be brought into a cold greenhouse, shed or garage during the winter and kept virtually dry.
Although it can take a couple of years for Agapanthus to establish, your patience will be rewarded with an abundance of flowers throughout the summer months.
All pictures used are of mature plants in full bloom and are for illustration purposes only, they may not reflect plants at all times of the year.

We ask all our buyers to remember Agapanthus plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons. Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.
We want you to be happy with your purchase and all our Agapanthus plants are checked and inspected visually before packing. In the unlikely event of a problem please advise us within 48hrs of delivery. Due to the nature of the item we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. Agapanthus Twister will only be accepted for return after seller has been informed and given permission. Refunds will be issued after the plants are received back in a saleable condition within 14 days from original dispatch date. Buyer must pay all return charges except where an item has been shipped in error.
