Abutilon Pink Charm.
Often called and perhaps better known as Flowering Maple or Parlour Maple and occasionally referred to as Chinese Lantern.
A gorgeous, upright/spreading semi-evergreen shrub.
Abutilon Pink Charm features slender arching stems bearing narrow dark green lobed or toothed Acer like leaves.

This beautiful ornamental shrub rarely exceeds a height of 6ft. with a similar spread.
Very free flowering it carries nodding bell or lantern shaped flowers 5.5-6.0 cm long on long stalks in summer and autumn and sometimes even into early winter.
The petals of the pale pink blooms of Pink Charm are perfectly highlighted by the deep salmon calyce.
Some growers claim to be able to keep the plant in bloom even longer by moving it to a conservatory or greenhouse in winter.
Although it will tolerate light shade Abutilon Pink Charm does best in full sun and needs a warm, well sheltered position in the garden. A south or west facing wall would be ideal.
Outstanding choice for growing in a container as a specimen plant for use in a courtyard or on the patio.
Any reasonable fertile garden soil is suitable for this Abutilon but it does need a good supply of water during the growing season.
Not a recognised climber but can be trained to grow on a trellis or against a wall.
Reputed to be a little hardier than many other Abutilons but its tolerance of cold winds and frost only goes so far and it advised that it should only be allowed to remain outside in milder regions of the U.K. and even then it still needs some winter protection.
In all other U.K. regions it is best moved to a frost free area for the winter months.
Any trimming or pruning necessary should be done immediately after flowering.
All pictures used are of mature plants in full bloom and may not necessarily reflect plants at all times of the year.

Our Abutilon plants are supplied ex. 10cm pots, they can be planted out immediately but better results will be obtained if they are grown on for a short time in a slightly larger container before transplanting to their final growing positions.

There is a wonderful little video published by Grow Plants showing how to plant and grow these super flowering shrubs, you can view it via the above link.
We ask all our buyers to remember plants are living items and their appearance changes with the seasons. Please don’t panic if the plant you receive looks different to the image on the website. This is quite normal and not a matter for any worry or concern, it is likely to be in perfect condition for the time of year. Particularly in autumn and winter many shrubs will lose their leaves and look rather bare, gaunt and stick-like and from August onwards many perennial plants may not even be showing above the soil.
We want you to be happy with your purchase and all our abutilon are checked and inspected visually before packing. In the unlikely event of a problem please advise us at sales@seedsplantsbulbs.com within 48hrs of delivery. You can also notify us by telephone at 02879111497 or 02879417038. Due to the nature of the goods we cannot accept any responsibility for their failure after planting as pests, disease, poor horticultural practice, extremes of weather and many other factors outside our control all take their toll. Abutilon Pink Charm will only be accepted for return after seller has been informed and given permission for their return. Refunds will be issued after items are received back in a saleable condition within 14 days from original dispatch date. Buyer must pay all return charges except where an item has been shipped in error.
